Alyssa was born three years ago today! How fast time has gone. We cannot believe how fast our baby girl is growing up. We had a birthday party with family. Lots of food and a pinata.
Those of you who know Alyssa know that she has a love for life. She is a ball full of energy, never a moment to waste. We never know what she will do or say next. Alyssa keeps us smiling and laughing. We love you Alyssa and we are looking forward to another year of memories!
A pinata, a great idea for a b-day! Well that is what we thought...until Alyssa told us she was afraid of the batter (bat) that would make a lot of noise when it hit the pinata. The only time she has seen a pinata was when she went to a b-day party when she was a year and a half! (She has an amazing memory, like her dad). She cried several time before her birthday saying, "Mom you have the pinata on your birthday!" Thank goodness she had some cousins who showed her how it was done, and she ended up having a blast.

We asked Alyssa what she wanted for her birthday, she said "I want a fish catcher to go fishing with dad and Jerm (uncle Jeremy)." Her aunt Charity came through with a Barbie fishing pole, and her uncle Jeremy got her a camping backpack with all the goods (tent, sleeping bag, flashlight, compass, ect).
Alyssa will tell you "It's hard to sleep!" but when it comes down to it she goes and goes and when she does stop she crashes, and it can be anywhere.
Our favorite Alyssa sayings and stories...
Laster-day (can mean yesterday, a week ago, a year ago...)
Hide and peek a boo (hide and seek)
Alyssa woke up one morning really early...she said "It's too hard to sleep my bed's not comfortable." Finally she came in our bed (which we rarely let her do, but she said it was not comfortable. Finally we turned on a movie and put her on the couch (ya, I know we are horrible parents!) we heard her say "the couch is not comfortable either!" but we did not hear another word. So a little later we went to check on her, and she was asleep on the hard coffee table!
She has been concerned about the Moroni statue on top of the LDS temples (we have had a chance to see many of the temples since there are two more under constuction around us). Alyssa at Christmas time said "Moroni you get down from there!" Come to find out she thought Moroni was alive person, and we had to explain it was a statue.
Alyssa also said. "I do not like Jesus's friends." We asked who Jesus's friends were and she said Moroni. We asked her why she did not like Moroni and she said, "because he does not come to visit me!" We said does Jesus come to visit you and she said, "yes!"
